In 2003 the CH Jones* Board supported the idea of our staff actively participating in local community activities.
We now have 12 (or 15% of the total) members of staff at all levels working with Acorns Childrens Hospice Trust.
The active participation of CH Jones' staff is particularly encouraged through a "matching time-off" scheme. Some
colleagues have gained qualifications in working with children at different levels. We also provide financial support
which; after the first two years of working with these organisations, has contributed over £25,000. A large majority
of this money was raised with generous help from our dealers, customers, suppliers and around three quarters of our staff.
*Keyfuels is a trading division of CH Jones Ltd. The Acorns Childrens Hospice Trust cares for life limited children and their families across the West Midlands region. Our staff work as volunteers in a number of different capacities; as escorts on day trips, organising group social and play events, some are qualified as befrienders working one to one with children and others organise events for sibling groups. In this type of voluntary work the fall out of volunteers natonally after twelve months is up to 70%; it's a credit to our staff that our fall out ratio is zero. |
