Change account ControlMAX defaults
ControlMAX is a set of rules that can govern how and when a smart card may be used. ControlMAX is only available to smart card users.
There are ten different ControlMAX rules, they are:
- Single drawing limit - the total amount of fuel that can be drawn in a single transaction
- Daily drawing limit - the total amount of fuel that can be drawn in a day
- Weekly drawing limit - the total amount of fuel that can be drawn in any 7 day period (the period begins on the day of the first drawing following the application of the rules)
- Max. transactions per day - the total number of separate drawings that can be made in a day
- Max. transactions per week - the total number of separate drawings that can be made in any 7 day period (the period begins on the day of the first drawing following the application of the rules)
- Max. incorrect PIN entries - the total number of allowed attempts† to enter a correct PIN
- PIN lockout duration - the duration in minutes between each incorrect attempt to enter a correct PIN
- Valid from time - the start time, entered in the format HH:MM:SS that drawings will be allowed from
- Valid to time - the end time, entered in the format HH:MM:SS that drawings will be allowed until
- This accounts cards can be used on - the days of the week that the card can be used
†A single attempt is a block of three tries. For example, a Max. incorrect PIN entries value of '3' will allow '9' separate tries split into 3 blocks of 3. Each block of 3 tries is separated by the PIN lockout duration.
Applying Controlmax settings
You will need to choose which cards to apply the changes to:
- All cards except those with their own individual ControlMAX rules - will apply the changes to every card on the account that does not already have it's own ControlMAX rules
- All cards - will apply the changes to every card on the account, overwriting individual settings if they exist
If this is a controlling account then you will need to choose which cards to apply the changes to:
- This account only - will only apply the changes to this account and it's cards
- This account and all of it's sub accounts - will apply the changes to this account, it's sub-accounts and all cards on those accounts
Finally, you need to specify the site or sites to transmit the changes to. If the account has any Own Yard sites that allow ControlMAX Updates, there will also be an option to transmit the request to all of those own yard sites.
If the account does not have any Own Yard sites, or you would additionally like to transmit the request to sites on the Keyfuels network, you can choose up to 5 network sites to send them to.
Tips for using ControlMAX
- If you are using the daily drawing limit then you will also need to specify a single drawing limit
- If you are using any of the drawing limits then specifiying the number of transactions per day or week are not necessary
- Be aware that times must be entered in the format HH:MM:SS
- If you are using the time restrictions, you may want to give a small allowance either side for contingencies e.g. if your working hours were 09:00:00 to 17:00:00 then the limits could be set to 08:30:00 to 17:30:00 to allow early or late fillings
